Skate Park

A public meeting will be held on October 5th to discuss the building of the Mt Evelyn Skate Park. The meeting will be held at the Mt Evelyn Public Hall and will start at 7:30 pm.

Cr Tim Heenan has arranged the meeting so that young people, residents and other interested parties can look at the plans and comment on the facility.

Young people are particularly invited to check out the layout of the park and have input into the design. The current netball courts by Gardner Parade will be relocated to Morrison Reserve, where three netball courts will be resurfaced and clubrooms renovated. The relocation will free up land for the skate park, and a future BMX track.

The Shire of Yarra Ranges has had $125,000 set aside for the skate park for five years.

Cr Heenan said, “This is a great outcome for young people in Mt Evelyn. The girls who play netball will have decent facilities and rooms, Pembroke and the Special Development School will have access to the courts, and local young people can at last have a well designed skate park that they have been waiting for.”

The plans are on display at the Community Link now
