Tim Heenan - Councillor for the Shire of Yarra Ranges
Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well. Hasn't the year moved so fast, and of course summer is only around the corner, so please continue your fuel reduction so you will be ready when the burning off period ends.
I would also like to remind the community that starting on October 10 until Nov 9 residents will have FREE and unlimited tipping of green waste at all Shire tips. So please take advantage of this free opportunity to dispose of your green waste.
On November 7 & 8 this year at Morrison Reserve we again will have Relay For Life. This involves a lot of very passionate people who have gained sponsorship to raise money for cancer research and walking around Morrison Reserve for 17 hours through Saturday night into Sunday morning. In the Shire over the last 6 years our community has raised more than $300,000 for cancer research, a fantastic effort to say the least I'm a proud supporter of Relay For Life and hope you will contact them to get involved, get onto the website and get a team together. Looking forward to seeing all of you on that weekend.
Finally I would like to invite you all to come and sleep-out with me at Melba Park. I will be sleeping in a cardboard box for a week from October 11. On Saturday night October 17 we will have a bbq and entertainment and one or two surprises so come along. All monies raised will go to Anchor Community Care in Lilydale and the Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Centre in Belgrave. Hope to see you there to raise awareness for homeless people. This is a cause worth getting behind.
Look after yourselves,
Cr Tim Heenan.
